HAL releases the CA6.2 multi-room AV controller
The CA6.2 is the fifth generation of multi-room AV controllers by HAL.
Calling on the experience of products past and present, the continued growth of digital media and trends in control interfaces, the CA6.2 meets the demands of low level to high level users and integrators.
The CA6.2 is available in two platforms but utilises the same I/O hardware in both so that integrators can choose a familiar solution and topology to meet their requirements from a simple to fully featured product. Boards are also modular so they too can be interchanged or even removed completely again extending the range and opportunity with the one product for the integrator.
Many of the philosophies behind the CA6.2 have come from HAL Engineers and sales staff experience in the field. Features such as two local source inputs per zone have always been a feature of HAL products and continue here, as does zone control of IR that enables users to press a single button and have visual devices integrate seamlessly with AV selection and/or zone power. HAL AV amplifiers have always been lauded for their performance and the CA6.2 has it’s main amplifier board coupled to the chassis for excellent heat dispersion and should the installer require more powerful zones these channels can also be bridged on order from the factory.
As a modular based unit the amplifier board can be removed with no effect on the remainder of the product making it saleable as a multi zone processor only. Pre-amp outputs can also be software assigned as fixed or variable. Multiple digital I/O triggers have also been added to enhance the products use with third party amplifiers, motorized blinds, screens and lifts and intercom systems. The CA6.2-8 is a simpler product designed for use as a stand alone system or as part of a more complex control system where the installer and user wish to capitalise on the many connection rich features of the CA6.2 but for a portion of the price. With IR through only users can utilise their source remotes in each zone or the installer can provide their preferred learning remotes at a level commensurate with their customer’s requirements.
